Summerhouse Apartment Community

Virginia Beach, VA

Summerhouse Apartment Community is a full-service, resort-style multi-use facility including living space, offices, retail and parking at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The 7,000 cubic yard, 260,000 square foot structure covers an entire city block. The design of the apartment structure included a steel frame building with concrete foundations and slab infills. The multi-story garage was cast-in-place, and Century's scope included foundations, columns, walls, and slabs. Due to limited space, the foundations required sheeting/shoring, also performed by Century. Century constructed the structural surround, which encloses a center courtyard with a swimming pool.
