Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, Retail & Housing

Century completed this educational facility for Northrup Grumman, located just outside of the Newport News shipyard. The main facility included a gym with high floor levelness requirements, and Century consequently made adjustments to placement methods to meet the customer's needs. The concrete scope package included pile caps and grade beams, curbs, slabs on grade, slabs on deck, and exposed-finish, cylindrical column wraps. During the course of this project, Century was also awarded the parking garage and retail buildings on the same project site, and completed all buildings within the required time frame to the approval of the customer.
